post modern princicples
For my post modern principles, I used play-doh to demonstrate different ideas/principles. The first picture demonstrates "text". I rolled out different lengths of play-doh and created the words faith and saves. Then I put faith vertically and saves horizontally. Now it reads faith saves in the shape of a cross.
For my second principle, I demonstrated "hybridity". I made your favorite animal the zonkey!! Which is obviously a hybrid between a zebra and a donkey.
For my third post modern principle, I wanted to incorporate juxtaposition. You didn't capture a picture of it but my idea was to make scissors out of play-doh. This is juxtaposition because everyone knows soft items cannot cut through paper! :)

"The Best Art Supply Store Doesn't Sell Art Supplies"
- What if you didn't need any store for art supplies? Like using juice for watercolor or sticks outside for a sculpture?
- Another cool idea is using noodles to sculpt a face. Noodles (when cooked) are smooth and easily bendable. Sculpting something with them would be incredibly easy...
-
- What if a bird could be made out of feathers? That would be interesting because it would look so realistic considering birds have feathers...
- Carving books or burning books to create another aspect of art is so fascinating because it's something unexpected. You wouldn't think destroying a book would have anything to do with art until you see the final piece.
- Using wax is one of my favorites... melting wax can create a sculpture or even be used for paint. Different types of art can be made out of wax, one of my favorites is the melted crayon art, which has become very popular over the years.

my favorite post modern principles
Interaction of text and image is one of my favorite post modern principles. The idea of a picture and text coming together to interplay between two elements is great for things like ads, commercials, logos, and banners. It is simple, and to the point where the viewer can understand the meaning and appreciate the combination.
Hybridity is also another interesting concept where today's artists see the continuity of their bodies of work as the themes they explore, rather than the particular media they use. Two concepts can come together to work as one main idea. Many artists routinely incorporate various media into their pieces, whatever is required to fully investigate the subject.
The term juxtaposition is useful in helping students to discuss the familiar shocks of contemporary life in which images and objects from various realms and sensibilities come together in intentional clashes or in random happenings. I like juxtaposition because it is interesting to see what two opposites can come together to create a different perspective on objects.
